Walked the fairly gentle 8.5 mile stretch from Llantilio to Monmouth, partly in the rain - which made it very muddy in places. Once I'd finished, at the Wye Bridge in Monmouth, the sun came out and it's now a beautiful evening. Camping at Beeches Farm - a very lovely site quite near the "Devil's Pulpit", not far from Tintern Abbey. Fantastic views over the Wye Valley - and I'm pretty sure this was the same site that we used last time I did Offa's Dyke, about 25 years ago.
Had great fun putting up Katie & Tom's tent - but we managed it in the end - and now he's going to bed (we hope)!
Forecast for tomorrow is sunshine & showers and quite warm. Should be a lovely walk down the gorgeous Wye Valley from Monmouth to Bigsweir. Even young Tom will be able to do some of it!
