ARRGGGH! BUT IT'S NICE WHEN IT STOPS!

The Monnow Bridge campsite is small, busy and very convenient - but we're sitting here with the disgusting racket of a live band playing crap pop music, out of tune, blasted at about 150 decibels across the whole of Monmouth from the pub just down the road! Add to that some obscene language from couple having a domestic shouting match 2 gardens away - you get the picture!
The walk today was harder work than we expected. Alice & I started in the rain, fully dressed in waterproof tops & bottoms, but it was already quite warm and soon the sun came out - so we gradually shed clothes as we went.
All the pubs marked on the map along the route were closed! Jane walked back from the end and met us at the impressive White Castle - and we then trundled the last 2 miles across fields to Llantilio Crossenny where, again, the pub was closed! Jane took Alice back to her car and then met me at our "peaceful" site in Monmouth.
Tomorrow's walk finishes at Monmouth - and Katie & Tom then join us for a couple of days while we do the beautiful Wye valley. Hoping for decent weather and a better camp site!
