COME ON FOLKS - IT'S HOLIDAY TIME!!!

Yes - holiday are starting - no more excuses - it's time to get some exercise!
Pontcysyllte - Telford's Aqueduct
Despite the weather, we managed a couple of days walking last week-end.  Tramping over wet farmland through knee-high grass and waist-high wheat fields, battling with nettles and brambles, coping with overgrown hedges, broken stiles, knackered bridges, non-existent footpaths, blocked rights of way and major roadworks wasn't that much fun - but that bit's finished now, thank God!  (A machete and a flame-thrower might have been useful!)  From now on, it's easy!

We've reached the Offa's Dyke path, at the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.  The next stage starts here on Thursday 12 July and we''ll be doing 5 days, finishing near Montgomery on Monday 16 July.  Do join me if you can.

On the way home last Sunday we went to hear friends Peter Donohoe and Martin Roscoe give a two-piano recital in Blackburn - brilliant!  And next Saturday, 14 July, we'll be going to hear the Allegri String Quartet at Llanfillin.

The rest of Offa's Dyke (the best bit!) will take place during the second two weeks of August - details will be posted when we know exact dates.  Please help spread the word - we need more musicians and more donations!
