BYE BYE LAKE DISTRICT!
Brian, Freda, Tony & I set off from Scout Scar car park this morning in the rain. By the time we got up onto the scar it had stopped! A beautiful limestone scar, about 2 miles of gentle walking, with magnificent views back to the Lakeland hills and ahead to Morecambe Bay. Tony & Freda left us at Brigsteer Road, Brian & I carried on, past Sizergh Castle and down to Levens, shedding clothes all the way as the sun came out, to enjoy a quick half and a sandwich at the Hare & Hounds. After braving the dangers of the A590, we crossed Levens Bridge and visited the lovely Levens Hall. A mile or so further and we finished near Heversham. Should make it to Carnforth tomorrow - hope the weather holds. Apparently it's been pelting it down everywhere else in the UK, which makes us very happy!
