WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY!
Absolutely gorgeous weather! Did a good 10 miles, mostly alongside the RIver Caldew, from Cummersdale to Sedbergham - and the last 7 or so miles, from Dalston onwards, must rate as one of the prettiest riverside walks anywhere. Then met Moira and Rodney for lunch at the pub in Dalston, before moving to a really lovely new campsite at Millhouse. Finally, the icing on the cake, found a truly great pub! The Old Crown Inn at Hesket Newmarket - Britain's first co-operatively owned pub - with it's own brewery attached. Lovely end to the day! Tomorrow, we actually enter the Lake District National Park. Just a short stretch before we come home - but it ensures that the 1st stage next time is a cracker!
