BYE, BYE, SCOTLAND!
Yes, that's the end of Scotland - an awful lot of it there was and very beautiful too! Passed Gretna (no wedding) and crossed the border today - and crossed the River Esk too, so should pass Carlisle tomorrow. A beautiful, warm, sunny day today. Stopped at the first pub in England and - would you believe it? No real ale! However, the Metal Bridge Inn, on the south bank of the Esk estuary has just re-opened and they did have a nice, local brew! Might pop in again tomorrow to celebrate! Jane's blisters much improved! (Mainly because she spent most of today shopping at the Gateway Outlet in Gretna) But I must be grateful - she cooked me a nice meal tonight on our spanking new electric hob! Such luxury!
